Mt. Vernon, NC -- An 11-year-old boy is recovering in the hospital after a van struck him while he was walking to his bus stop Tuesday.
The boy and two other students were walking to their stop when Seleacar Cabello, 36, hit the boy with his work van.
Cabello told investigators he was driving east on James Boswell Rd. and the sun was in his eyes, so he couldn't see the kids, according to Trooper Greg Ingram.
Troopers cited Cabello with driving with a revoked license and failure to reduce speed to avoid colliding with a pedestrian, Ingram said.
The 11-year-old suffered an injury to his legs and was transported to Alamance Regional Hospital where doctors say he is in good spirits.
