(East Providence, RI) -- It was a happy reunion for a dog and it's grateful owners on Tuesday (10/02), after news reports of the pooch's mishap helped bring them together again.
The dog, named Susie, survived a horrifying ride after running out in the road, getting struck by a car and then trapped to the grill. The driver had no idea it was there.
According to Will Muggle of the East Providence Animal Control, a driver going 50 miles per hour hit a small poodle-mix near Segregansett Country Club in Taunton without realizing it.
The driver continued for 11 miles until someone flagged him down. The dog was stuck inside the grill, clinging to life the whole way.
Muggle rushed to the scene and tried to pull the dog out, not knowing if she would survive.
Amazingly, the dog was nearly unscathed. She had a concussion which has since cleared up, and a minor bladder issue that has been fixed as well.
