(Issaquah, WA) -- A black bear and her three cubs had an elementary school scrambling this morning-- forcing a brief lockdown.
Local police and state wildlife officials showed up with a dog but never did find the bears. They believe the bears have moved elsewhere. I'm told bears are fairly common in this area because just a block that way is Issaquah creek, which has a lot of salmon right now. What's NOT common is for the bears to wander onto school grounds.
