Courtesy, friendliness and speed are some of the traits of a good server. And this group of Argentine waiters came to Buenos Aires to test one to its extreme - speed.
They're from the country' top hotels and restaurants. Dressed in their uniform and armed with a loaded tray -- they rushed down the 1.6 kilometer, or one mile track on Avenida de Mayo for a cash prize of $30,000 pesos, which is about $6,000 U.S. dollars. And any contestant can tell you that it's not an easy balancing act.
Waiter And Race Competitor, Federico Rodriguez, said "I thought it was the same I'm used to at my work but here it's in the open air. The wind can actually play against you and for some blocks my body was trembling, and yes my stamina, my legs, could not give me more to a point that at the last lap turn I ran on my last breath."
