Reidsville, NC -- On Friday night, Eastern Randolph faces off against Reidsville and if you're headed that way, bring your appetite.
Reidsville is known for football. But the town is also known for BBQ -- not just any BBQ, but Short Sugar's BBQ.
"Absolutely, the best BBQ in North Carolina. People come from all over just to have Short Sugar's BBQ," said James Festerman, Mayor of Reidsville.
So what's the secret to the best BBQ?
"BBQ sauce. The sauce is the secret," said the restaurant manager.
On Friday nights, the restaurant serves plenty of BBQ to customers. But hot dogs, hamburgers and french fries are also top-sellers before football games.
The restaurant has been serving BBQ since 1949.
Short Sugar's is a staple in the community, but people don't just come in for the food.
"We come in for the nice people. We have a lovely town and we just enjoy coming in and talking to our friends. It's the place where everybody wants to come. So come on down and eat some BBQ," said one customer.
If you have to eat and run, not to worry. You can just drive up to Short Sugar's, honk your horn, and they'll be right out to take your order.
