Greensboro, NC-- Local hockey fans came to the Ice House in Greensboro to watch and play some recreation league hockey. Since the NHL has been locked out for the off season and preseason, this is the only hockey these fans could get.
But, Tom Hamblin would rather see his beloved Avalanche, which he has cheers for every year. He says he doesn't know why or what really brought on the strike but he is all for the players.
Bill Black says he is happy the lock out is over but believes the NHL should have cancelled the season. He feels, the Stanley Cup Championship won't mean the same without the full rigors of an NHL season .
But, most fans are just happy to have the pros back doing what they do best, play Hockey.
