Virginia (CNN) -- A cyclist felt a little more than just the wind hitting his face during recent race in Virginia.

Jeff Plassman is a Monster Cup cyclist. Fifteen minutes into his first lap of the race this weekend, a deer darted in front of him!

He wore a helmet cam that caught it all on tape.

Jeff said all he saw was sky, fur and the ground!

The deer was fine, and Jeff finished his race.
