Reno, NV -- It might have gone well with a massive order of burgers and fries -- but a stretch of asphalt, not so much. Road crews in Nevada had to use snowplows to clean up after a wreck that involved a huge truck carrying thousands of bottles of ketchup.
The resulting accident looked much worse than it was -- the area of the wreck along I-80 in Reno was coated with red, but it was from the Heinz tomato product, not blood. No one was injured. The Reno Gazette-Journal reports the truck swerved to avoid another vehicle and hit the median of a bridge. That ripped the trailer open and dumped the ketchup all over the road. The cause of the crash is under investigation.
