Asheboro, NC-- A Triad woman who lost both her legs in a wreck five years ago isn't letting that keeping her from paying it forward.
For her 40th birthday, she has one wish...help get her friend back on her feet after losing she lost her home to a fire.
Tina Byrd, is the amazing Asheboro woman lost both her legs while helping the victims involved in a church bus crash in 2008.
Byrd was in the bus when a car crashed into it. She and the youth pastor were checking on the people in the car when a third car hit Byrd, severing her legs.
News 2 was there on Valentine's Day this year when Tina Byrd got engaged. It's the beginning of her happily ever after.

Tina Byrd has lived through a life-changing setback. She told WFMY News 2 Liz Crawford that the experience changed her outlook on life. She doesn't take a day for granted, knowing how close she was to death.
That's why it's no surprise that she's asking that people help someone other than her for her 40th birthday.

Okay ALL my Facebook friends...I am turning the big 4-0 in just a little over 2 weeks and my birthday wish is to get my bestest friend in the whole world set back on her feet...her home was burnt down to the ground Sunday morning...
In just a few hours, people were asking how they could help and what her friend, Sheila Aleman needed. Aleman and her boyfriend were home at the time of the fire. Fortunately, her 19-year-old and 10-year-old sons were not home.
