Clarksville, TN-- A man is still in the hospital recovering after being burned a month ago in a bizarre accident at a gas station in Tennessee.
The accident happened on July 4 as the man and a friend were walking in the parking lot. Security video released from the scene shows the man trying to get out of the way, as the car crashes head-on into a gas pump causing it catch fire, and you see flames engulf the victim.
The man identified as Chris Porter had just finished eating at a Pancake House, in Clarksville, TN, when he stopped at the Exxon Mobile convenience store next door.
The Leaf Chronicle did a background check on the driver, John E. Ward, 57 and learned he had three similar accidents in 12 months.
Porter is in critical condition at a Tennessee hospital.
