14 Elon Football Players Honored By SoCon Coaches

Spartanburg, S.C. -- A total of 14 Elon Phoenix football players were recognized by the Southern Conference's coaches with either all-conference or all-freshman accolades on Tuesday afternoon.

The 14 honorees are the most for the program since joining the SoCon for the 2003 season, surpassing last year's total of 10.

Picking up first-team All-Southern Conference honors were senior offensive linemen David Harrison and Chris Werden, senior wide receiver Terrell Hudgins, senior defensive linemen Andre Campbell and Eric Ludwig, sophomore linebacker Joshua Jones and senior defensive back Karlos Sullivan.

Second-team distinction was bestowed upon junior quarterback Scott Riddle, sophomore running back Jamal Shuman and senior defensive backs Cameron McGlenn and Nolan Ward.

Wide receiver Jeremy Peterson, linebacker Dale Riley and kicker Adam Shreiner claimed spots on the SoCon's All-Freshman team.

the ninth-ranked Phoenix will make its first-ever appearance in the FCS playoffs this weekend by traveling to take on the Richmond Spiders in a 1 p.m. game on Saturday afternoon.

Elon concluded its regular season with a 9-2 overall mark and a 7-1 SoCon record, finishing second in the league.
