
Conway, SC -- Kenny George had 15 points and seven rebounds to help UNC Asheville remain unbeaten in Big South Conference play with a 56-52 win over Coastal Carolina tonight.
The 7-foot-7 George added six blocks and made life miserable inside for the Chanticleers, who shot 29 percent from the field. After Coastal Carolina got within a point with four minutes left, George hit two free throws and a jumper in a 7-0 run to put UNC Asheville ahead 54-47 with 1:50 left.
Logan Johnson had 11 points for Coastal Carolina, but top scorer Jack Leasure was held to eight points on 2-of-14 shooting.
K.J. Garland added 12 points and eight rebounds for UNC Asheville, which is off to its best league start in ten years.
