Raleigh, N.C. -  According to NC State University's athletic department, DeShawn Painter and Jaqwan Raymond asked for, and have been granted their release from the Wolfpack basketball team. 

Painter, a key role player on NC State's team, is a 6'9" forward averaging 6.2 points and 4.3 rebounds per game. 

The forward is looking to play for a school closer to his home in Norfolk, VA.
