Lexington, N.C.--Wednesday evening, Davidson County CC Storm Basketball coaches signed another recruit for the 2012-2013 basketball season. Darius Rogers inked with the Storm on Wednesday by signing his National Letter of Intent.

Rogers, a 5'9" point guard from High Point, NC, averaged 8 points, 4 assists and 2 steals per game during his senior season at TW Andrews High School for Head Coach James Abell.

Darius helped lead the Red Raiders to an undefeated conference championship and an overall record of 26-3, while advancing to the Regional Semifinals (Elite Eight) of the 2011 2A North Carolina State playoffs. Coach Abell remarked, "Darius was a four year varsity player and two year starter at Andrews. I was glad to have the privilege to coach Darius for four years in high school. Darius was the silent leader who would set the tone for the team with his defensive intensity.

He made our defense really good by being able to put pressure on the ball then entire length of the court. And then with his speed and quickness, being able to push the ball and the pace made our offense very effective. Darius was a main reason for our success during the 2010-2011 season."

Storm Head Coach Matt Ridge: "I am excited about Darius joining the Storm for this upcoming season. Darius is a true point guard who is a tenacious defender and is very good at making his teammates better. I expect him to compete for playing time immediately."
