SPARTANBURG, S.C. - Elon's Jack Isenbarger has been named the Southern Conference Player of the Week for all games played January 31-February 6 the league office announced Tuesday (Feb. 7). The sophomore guard averaged 23.3 points, seven rebounds and 5.6 assists in three games for the Phoenix last week as Elon posted wins over College of Charleston (99-98, 2OT), The Citadel (71-66) and Appalachian State (82-59).

With teammate Austin Hamilton ill, Isenbarger started at point guard against the Cougars and scored 25 points to go with six assists in the double overtime win. Isenbarger poured in a career-high 34 points in 34 minutes Saturday night against The Citadel. He finished the week with 11 points, seven assists and just one turnover against Appalachian State.

The Zionsville, Ind., native made 56 percent (22-of-39) of his field goal attempts, including 47 percent (9-of-19) from three-point range. Isenberger was 17-of-19 from the free throw line and added 14 rebounds, 17 assists and five steals for the week.

The Phoenix (13-10, 8-4 SoCon) currently hold a one-game lead in the North Division. Elon travels to Chattanooga Thursday night.

Other top performers in the Southern Conference included College of Charleston's Andrew Lawrence, The Citadel's Lawrence Miller, Davidson's De'Mon Brooks, Georgia Southern's Jelani Hewitt, UNCG's Trevis Simpson, Samford's Raijon Kelly, Western Carolina's Keaton Cole and Wofford's Brad Loesing.
