Baltimore, MD (Sports Network) - Erik Etherly scored 15 points to pace Loyola-
Maryland as the Greyhounds routed the Rider Broncs 63-46 in Metro Atlantic
Athletic Conference action from Reitz Arena.
Robert Olson added 14 and Dylon Cormier chipped in 12 off the bench for
Loyola-Maryland (17-5, 10-2 MAAC which has now won five of its last six
contests. Shane Walker had a game-high 12 rebounds as well for the Greyhounds.
Daniel Stewart had a 13 point, 10 rebound double-double for Rider (9-15, 6-6)
which had a three game winning streak snapped.
Loyola-Maryland went up big early on leading 39-12 at the half. The Greyhounds
shot a solid 51.7 percent from the floor and hampered the Broncs offense which
managed just three field goals in the first twenty minutes.
Rider improved in the second half putting in 46.2 percent of its shots but it
wasn't enough to overcome the terrible first half as Loyola-Maryland coasted
to the win despite shooting just 31.8 percent to close out the game.
The teams were even in rebounds at 36-36. Loyola-Maryland outscored Rider 17-6
on points off turnovers including a 13-0 advantage in the first half.
