Indianapolis, IN (Sports Network) - Ray McCallum posted a game-high 20 points
to lead the Detroit Titans to a 65-61 verdict over the Butler Bulldogs in a
Horizon League clash at Hinkle Fieldhouse.
Eli Holman added 13 points and grabbed seven rebounds off the bench in the win
for Detroit (13-12, 7-6 HL), while Chase Simon netted 11 points.
Andrew Smith scored 18 points to go with eight boards, leading the way for
Butler (13-12, 7-6 HL), while Roosevelt Jones finished with a double-double of
16 points and 12 rebounds. Erik Fromm got into the mix as well, tallying 10
points while Ronald Nored handed out a game-high nine assists in the losing
effort.
The Bulldogs were stifled to the tune of a miserable 26.1 percent shooting
from the field during the opening frame, helping Detroit to a slight 28-27
halftime edge.
The Titans then hit 48.0 percent of their attempts from the floor over the
final 20 minutes to earn a four-point win.
The Bulldogs shot at a meager 35.3 percent clip during the contest and were
guilty of a game-high 18 giveaways.
