Newark, DE (Sports Network) - Devon Saddler scored 24 points as the Delaware
Blue Hens defeated the UNC-Wilmington Seahawks 71-53 in Colonial Athletic
Association play at Bob Carpenter Center.
It marks the fourth time in five games Saddler has scored 20 or more for
Delaware (12-12, 8-6 CAA), which has won three straight. Jamelle Hagins added
15 points and seven boards.
For UNCW (9-15, 5-9), Keith Rendleman tallied 17 points and Donte Morales
chipped in 11 points. Cedrick Williams grabbed 10 rebounds for the Seahawks,
who have lost five of six.
Delaware took a 28-27 lead into halftime despite being outshot from the field
by UNCW in the half 44 percent to 37.5 percent.
The Blue Hens started the second half on a 20-6 run to take a 15 point lead
with 11:41 remaining and cruised from there out.
Delaware turned 17 UNCW turnovers into 20 points while the Blue Hens turned it
over just seven times.
