Mount Pleasant, MI (Sports Network) - Javon McCrea's 16 points and 10 rebounds
propelled the Buffalo Bulls to a 66-62 win over the Central Michigan Chippewas
in Mid-American Conference action at McQuirk Arena,
Mitchell Watt added 15 points for the Bulls (15-6, 8-2 MAC), who have won six
straight and remain in second place in the MAC's East Division, one game
behind Akron. Zach Filzen added 12 points and Auraum Nuiriankh 11.
Oliver Mbaigoto paced the Chippewas (7-16, 2-8) with 18 points. Austin
McBroom, Austin Keel and Derek Jackson added 11 each but the hosts still lost
their eighth straight. Finis Craddock grabbed five boards.
Buffalo led 34-23 at halftime after going 13-of-31 from the field. The Bulls
were 7-of-16 from outside the arc.
Buffalo led by 13 early in the second half, but rallied to tie the game at 46
with 9:15 remaining. The Bulls scored the next 11 points but Central Michigan
went on a 10-0 run of its own to trail by just a point with 3:45 left but the
Bulls never gave up the lead.
Buffalo had a 48-27 advantage on the glass.
