Austin, TX (Sports Network) - Texas guard Sterling Gibbs will transfer, saying
in a statement Tuesday that his decision was "family-related and involves more
than basketball."
The freshman averaged 2.6 points in 30 games this past season for Texas.
"I've had a great year at Texas," Gibbs said. "I've improved as a basketball
player and as a person during my time here. If my decision had to do with
basketball only, I would not be leaving Texas."
Gibbs will transfer after he completes the spring semester.
