Coral Gables, FL (Sports Network) - Kenny Kadji recorded a double-double in
leading the Miami Hurricanes to a 77-62 victory over the Detroit Titans in a
non-conference matchup at the BankUnited Center.
Kadji had 14 points and 11 rebounds for Miami (3-1) while Shane Larkin and
Duran Scott tied for a team lead with 15 points. Trey McKinney Jones also
added 13 points.
Nick Minnerath had a game-high 22 points for Detroit (2-2). Jason Calliste
and Ray McCallum each added 15 points.
Miami led 35-31 at the end of the first half despite shooting 51.9 percent
from the floor. Detroit kept itself within striking distance by outscoring
the Hurricanes 18-9 from 3-point range.
The Hurricanes shot an identical 51.9 percent from the field overall in the
second half and limited the Titans to 37.0 percent shooting.
Led by Kadji the Hurricanes dominated the interior with a 41-27 edge in
rebounds and a 42-16 advantage on points in the paint.
