Orlando, FL (Sports Network) - Led by 17 points from Dom Morris, the Boston
University Terriers dominated the Howard Bison, 71-44, in the consolation game
of the UCF Holiday Tournament at UCF Arena.
For the Terriers (6-7), D.J. Irving added 14 points and Maurice Watson Jr. and
Malik Thomas each chipped in with 11 points.
Calvin Thompson led all scorers with 19 points for the Bison (3-12), while
Mike Phillips finished with 10 points.
BU started the game red-hot, connecting on 60 percent of its field goal
attempts, including 5-of-8 from beyond the 3-point arc, as it went into
halftime comfortably ahead, 40-21. Howard managed to shoot just 25.8 percent
from the field in the first half and missed all but one of its eight 3-
point attempts.
In the second half, the Terriers again shot the ball well, hitting on 52.2
percent from the field. The Bison continued their shooting woes, making only
22.9 percent of their field goal attempts, including just 2-of-12 from 3-
point range. The Terriers pushed their advantage to as many as 29 points in
the second half, as they coasted to the easy victory.
BU owned the paint, outscoring Howard 26-12. The Terriers had a slight edge on
the boards, 42-38.
