Cleveland, OH (Sports Network) - Christian Thomas scored 21 points for the
Loyola-Chicago Ramblers in a 67-55 win over the Cleveland State Vikings in a
Horizon League matchup at the Wolstein Center.
Thomas was 9-of-13 from the field for the Ramblers (12-7, 2-4 Horizon), who
have now won two in a row after a four-game losing streak. Ben Averkamp scored
18 points while Devon Turk added 13. Joe Crisman led the squad in rebounding
with nine boards.
Bryn Forbes scored 22 points, knocking down 3-of-4 3-point attempts, for
Cleveland State (10-11, 2-5), which has now lost three consecutive games.
Marlin Mason was the only other Viking to score in double figures with 10
points.
The score was tied, 25-25, at halftime after both teams struggled from beyond
the arc with CSU shooting 2-of-8 and Loyola shooting 1-of-7.
In the second half the Ramblers outscored the Vikings 42-30 due to shooting
65.0 percent from the field and 4-of-7 from long-range.
Loyola shot an efficient 53.7 percent from the floor throughout the game while
CSU shot at 39.6 percent rate.
