Stockton, CA (Sports Network) - Lorenzo McCloud scored 14 points to lead all
five starters in double figures for the Pacific Tigers who knocked off the Cal
State Fullerton Titans, 71-67, in a Big West conference battle at the Spanos
Center.
Travis Fulton netted 13 points to go with seven rebounds, Khalil Kelley had 12
points and six assists, Colin Beatty chipped in 11 points and Sama Taku tacked
on 10 points for Pacific (12-8, 6-2 Big West) which has won four of its last
five.
D.J. Seeley scored a game-high 23 points, Alex Harris added 19 and Kwame
Vaughn (13 points, nine rebounds) nearly had a double-double for Cal State
Fullerton (11-9, 4-4) which has lost four of its last five.
Pacific took a 35-30 lead into halftime by shooting 48.3 percent from the
floor while holding Cal State Fullerton to just 38.5 percent. The Titans hung
around thanks to a 6-of-11 showing from beyond the arc.
In the second half the Tigers shot an even better 52.2 percent from the field
which was enough to hold off the Titans who hit on 44.8 percent.
Pacific dominated inside and had a 30-18 edge on points in the paint. The
Tigers also assisted on 20 of their 26 field goals.
