Green Bay, WI (Sports Network) - Alec Brown posted a game-high 28 points as
the Green Bay Phoenix captured a 78-61 win over the Milwaukee Panthers in
Horizon League action at the Resch Center.
Brown, who shot 10-of-12 from the floor, including 4-of-5 behind the 3-point
line, added eight rebounds and three blocked shots for Green Bay (16-13, 10-5
HL) as the squad won for the fourth time in the last five outings. Keifer
Sykes accounted for 18 points and six assists for the hosts, followed by Greg
Mays with 15 points and eight rebounds.
In their final regular-season game of the campaign, the Panthers (8-23, 3-13)
were paced by Paris Gulley with 19 points, followed by Demetrius Harris and
Jordan Aaron with 15 points apiece as the team had a two-game win streak
snapped.
Green Bay scored the first points of the night and never looked back, shooting
48.0 percent from the field in order to build a 32-26 advantage at the break.
Milwaukee shot just 9-of-28 (.321) from the floor through the first 20 minutes
of action.
In the second half the Phoenix shot a very strong 56.7 percent from the field
in order to pull away and enjoy the 17-point home win.
Green Bay, which held a 36-25 rebounding advantage, also outscored the
Panthers in the paint by a 40-22 margin.
