Orangeburg, SC (Sports Network) - South Carolina State football will try to
rebound from a rare losing season during a 12-game 2013 football schedule,
which includes five home games.
The Bulldogs finished 5-6 last year - their first losing record in 12 seasons.
They will host Coastal Carolina in their season opener on Aug. 31 before
staying in state for a visit to ACC power Clemson on Sept. 7.
South Carolina State's other home games at Oliver C. Dawson Stadium are against
Alabama A&M (Sept. 14) and Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference members Hampton
(Sept. 28), Florida A&M (Nov. 9) and Morgan State (Nov. 16).
Coach Buddy Pough's squad will play in two classics, against Benedict in the
Palmetto Capital City City in Columbia on Sept. 21 and MEAC rival North
Carolina A&M in the Atlanta Football Classic on Oct. 5.
