Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic (Sports Network) - Vladimir Guerrero has surrendered to police in the Dominican Republic in connection with a brawl at a night club Monday night, according to reports from the former American League Most Valuable Player's homeland.

Guerrero turned himself in Tuesday morning after an all-points bulletin for his arrest was issued by the national police, reported Dominican Today.

The English-language newspaper said Guerrero was sought for an alleged attack on a police officer and for sparking a brawl at a night club in the city of Bani.

But Guerrero's brother, former major leaguer Wilton, and several community leaders have denied the 2004 AL MVP assaulted the officer, according to the report.

The free-swinging Guerrero, who is 37 and currently a free agent, hit 449 home runs and batted .318 with 1,496 RBI in 16 major league seasons with the Expos, Angels, Rangers and Orioles.
