Minneapolis, MN (Sports Network) - Minnesota Twins pitcher Scott Baker will
miss the season after having surgery on his injured right elbow.
Baker, 30, was placed on the 15-day disabled list April 4 with what the team
said was a strain in his right pitching elbow but will now be sidelined for
the rest of the year without throwing a pitch.
He appeared in 23 games last season, including 21 starts, while visiting the
DL several times and was 8-6 with a 3.14 earned run average and 123 strikeouts
in 134 2/3 innings.
Baker has played all seven of his major league seasons for the Twins.
