Pittsburgh, PA (Sports Network) - Charlie Morton tossed seven solid frames,
while Garrett Jones had three hits, including a two-run home run, as the
Pittsburgh Pirates defeated the Colorado Rockies, 5-1, in the second game of a
doubleheader on Wednesday.
The Rockies took the twinbill opener, 2-1.
Morton (1-1) allowed one run on six hits and one walk and Pedro Alvarez
smacked a solo shot in a five-run fifth inning for the Pirates, who took 2-
of-3 in the three-game set.
Ramon Hernandez belted a solo homer to account for Colorado's lone run.
