Detroit, MI (Sports Network) - Minnesota Twins starting pitcher Brian
Duensing was forced to leave Wednesday's game against Detroit in the fifth
inning after being hit by a line drive on the left ankle.
Alex Avila led off the inning by sending a line drive that deflected off
Duensing's ankle. Catcher Joe Mauer picked up the ball and threw to first base
for the out, but Duensing remained on the ground grimacing in pain.
Duensing gingerly walked off the field and was replaced by Kyle Waldrop.
Prior to departing, Duensing gave up four hits and a pair of runs over 4 1/3
innings.
