New York, NY (Sports Network) - Miami Heat star LeBron James and Houston
Rockets guard Goran Dragic were named NBA Players of the Week for games played
through April 8.
James helped Miami win three of its four games last week by posting averages
of 30.5 points, 5.8 rebounds, 5.5 assists and 2.3 steals.
He struck for a season-high 41 points in a 99-93 win over the Sixers on April
3, and went for 34 points, 10 assists, seven boards and four steals in a five-
point decision over Oklahoma City the next day.
Dragic's Rockets went 3-0 last week thanks to the 6-foot-3 Slovenian turning
in 20.7 points, 8.3 assists, 3.0 rebounds and 2.7 steals per game. His finest
performance of the week occurred on April 6 in LA, when he totaled 26 points,
11 assists, four boards and three steals in a 112-107 win over the Lakers.
Other nominees for the conference honors were Atlanta's Josh Smith, O.J. Mayo
from Memphis, Milwaukee's Brandon Jennings, Carmelo Anthony of the Knicks, San
Antonio's Tony Parker and Utah's Al Jefferson.
