New Orleans, LA (Sports Network) - Kobe Bryant missed his second straight game
with a shin injury, but in a city full of actors, Metta World Peace played the
role of hero quite nicely on Monday.
He drained the go-ahead three-pointer from the top of the key with 1:26 to
play and the Los Angeles Lakers held on for a 93-91 win over the New Orleans
World Peace finished with eight points -- six in the final quarter -- Pau
Gasol netted 25 points to go with nine rebounds, Andrew Bynum added 18 and 11
boards and Ramon Sessions finished with 17 to go with six rebounds and six
assists for the Lakers, who snapped a brief two-game skid.
Carl Landry paced the Hornets with 20 points and 11 rebounds, while Marco
Belinelli added 20 points and Greivis Vasquez added 18 and dished out 11
assists in defeat. New Orleans has lost five of its last seven games.
