Seattle, WA (Sports Network) - Lauren Jackson scored a season-best 23 points
and Shekinna Stricklen added 15 points and eight rebounds off the bench, as
the Seattle Storm used a big third quarter to bury the Tulsa Shock, 101-74.
Svetlana Abrosimova and Sue Bird each chipped in with 11 points in the
victory. Jackson scored seven points in the first quarter, more than her total
in two of the three games since her return from injury.
Yet, the Storm held just a 26-24 lead. Ivory Latta, Riquna Williams and Glory
Johnson kept Tulsa in the game for much of that period, but Seattle started to
pull away in the second. Latta ended with 18 points, Williams scored 17 points
with five assists and Johnson donated 15 points in defeat.
Jackson was back at it with 10 points in the third quarter, more than Tulsa's
total (9) in the period. She scored the period's first seven points with her
three-pointer opening a 60-40 lead. Her jumper moments later made the score
68-44, and the rout was on from there.
Seattle led by as many as 34 points early in the fourth stanza before emptying
its bench.
