Owings Mills, MD (Sports Network) - The Baltimore Ravens signed quarterback
Curtis Painter on Thursday to a one-year contract.
The former Colt will back up Joe Flacco and has been reunited with
Baltimore's quarterbacks coach Jim Caldwell, who was the head coach at
Indianapolis while Painter was there.
He started eight straight games and appeared in nine last season for the
Colts, but was on the losing end every time.
He finished his season passing for just 1,541 yards, six touchdowns and nine
interceptions while losing three fumbles and completing just 54.3 percent of
his passes.
The Purdue alum spent three seasons with the Colts, who drafted him in the
sixth round of the 2009 draft.
