Foxboro, MA (Sports Network) - New England Patriots linebacker Dane Fletcher
was put on injured reserve Tuesday due to a torn anterior cruciate ligament in
his left knee.
Fletcher suffered the injury during Thursday night's preseason game against
New Orleans.
Fletcher, who has played both inside and outside linebacker, finished his 2010
rookie season with 23 tackles and two sacks in 13 games played, all as a
reserve. In 2011, Fletcher had 37 tackles, but he was limited last season due
to a thumb injury that kept him out for six weeks.
The Patriots also released wide receiver Britt Davis.
