Detroit, MI (Sports Network) - Michael Ryder scored his first two goals of the
season to help the Dallas Stars spoil Detroit's home opener with a 2-1 victory
over the Red Wings at Joe Louis Arena.
Kari Lehtonen came close to recording a shutout, finishing with 39 saves
for Dallas.
Rookie Damien Brunner lit the lamp with 3.4 seconds remaining for the Red
Wings, converting a feed from Pavel Datsyuk. Jimmy Howard played well in
defeat, stopping 30 shots.
