Toronto, ON (Sports Network) - Toronto Maple Leafs forward Joffrey
Lupul suffered a fractured forearm in Wednesday's 5-2 win over the Pittsburgh
Penguins.
TSN of Canada cited Leafs head coach Randy Carlyle's update following the
game. Lupul departed in the second period and did not return after bearing the
brunt of a slash by Penguins defenseman Brooks Orpik. Additional reports cite
it was a shot from teammate Dion Phaneuf which caused the damage.
The setback comes just three days after the Leafs rewarded Lupul with a five-
year extension through the 2017-18 season.
