Sunrise, FL (SportsNetwork.com) - Jonathan Huberdeau and Aleksander Barkov
each scored once on a two-man advantage early in the second stanza, helping
the Florida Panthers to a successful home opener while handing the Pittsburgh
Penguins their first loss of the season with a 6-3 win Friday at BB&T Center.
Brad Boyes scored twice, Thomas Fleischmann added a goal and three assists,
and Barkov finished with a pair of helpers for the Panthers, who snapped a
three-game losing streak.
Jacob Markstrom made 36 saves in the victory.
Jeff Zatkoff made his NHL debut between the pipes for Pittsburgh and gave up
all six goals on 30 shots.
Craig Adams, Evgeni Malkin and Pascal Dupuis each scored once for the
Penguins, who were playing their first road game after opening the season with
a 3-0 homestand.
