Chester, PA (Sports Network) - The Philadelphia Union has signed MLS veteran
defender Chris Albright, the club announced on Monday.
Albright is a three-time MLS All-Star and has spent 13 seasons in the league
with four teams.
The 33-year-old began his MLS career with D.C. United in 1999 and helped the
club capture the MLS Cup in his first season.
Albright then moved on to the Los Angeles Galaxy via trade in 2002 and went on
to appear 116 matches while making three successive MLS All-Star teams.
Injuries limited the Philadelphia native in his last two stops at New England
and with Red Bull New York, but the Union will be hoping that a move to his
hometown club can re-ignite his career.
The Union will open its 2012 MLS campaign in Portland on March 12.
