Washington, D.C. (Sports Network) - D.C. United announced on Friday that the
club has acquired Indonesian midfielder Syamsir Alam on loan from Belgian side
C.S. Vise.
Alam has represented Indonesia at various youth levels during his
international career, and has enjoyed spells with Penarol, one of the top
teams in Uruguay, as well as Dutch Eredivisie clubs Heerenveen and Vitesse.
"Syamsir is a young, attacking midfielder with good technical ability, and we
look forward to having him on loan with us," D.C. United general manager Dave
Kasper said in a club statement.
The 20-year-old Alam is the second player from Indonesia to be linked with
United after Indonesian Under-21 forward Andik Vermansyah trained with the
club last September.
